The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the University of the Philippines Baguio Committee on Culture and the Arts (CCA) launched the 2nd edition of the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art (EPA) at the UP Baguio Main Library, Friday, February 21.
The program featured contributors from the UP Baguio College of Arts and Communication Dean Jimmy Fong, Professors Analyn Salvador-Amores, Jason Paolo Telles, and Junley Lazaga.
Professor Telles expressed his delight for the recognition of his contributions to the 10th volume or Broadcast Arts volume of the encyclopedia.
“Napaka-espesyal ng volume na ‘to kasi it’s the first time na magkakaroon ng volume ang broadcast arts and so far, ngayon lang siya ina-acknowledge as a form of art,” Professor Telles stated.
(This volume is very special because it’s the first time that there will be a volume about broadcast arts. It [broadcast art] was just recently acknowledged as a form of art.)
The first edition of EPA was released back in 1994. CCP President and Artistic Director Chris Millado said it was outdated and a lot of new artists have emerged through time.
The whole collection of the CCP EPA will be available for purchase at P50,000. An interactive and accessible digital version will also be available online by September this year.
