Saint Louis University Supreme Student Council (SLU SSC) clarified that there are no reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the university.

This is in light of the Facebook post circulating online claiming that a student from Saint Louis University (SLU) is showing symptoms of COVID-19, therefore, students who had contact will be under quarantine.

SLU SSC released an official statement on Thursday, March 12 stating that there are no reports on COVID-19 at the University. The news circulating online is fake.

Meanwhile, Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued Executive Order No. 60 series of 2020 on March 12 which declares suspension of classes from all levels both public and private schools in Baguio City from March 13 until March 22, 2020. The suspension is part of the precautionary measure against COVID-19.

In his Facebook video post, he further mentioned preventive measures against the virus.

“As a major precaution, we cancel all crowd-drawing public gatherings, scheduled in the next several weeks, purposely to guard against anyone from being infected. Your health, protection and safety are our primary concerns. We have also appealed for private gatherings to be scaled down to small, manageable crowds so as not to compromise anyone’s health,” Magalong stated.

As of March 14, 2020, Provincial Task Force Coronavirus Chairperson Governor Jocelyn Bernos announced that a resident from Abra tested positive from COVID-19. This is the first confirmed case in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
