SET-UP holds 9th Valentine Concert: "Naglalagablove: Sa9-All"

Sana all!” The crowd cheered as lucky individuals received roses and brownies from those who joined the dedication event hosted by Sining, Eksena, at Tinig sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (SET-UP) on Thursday, February 13 at the Alumni Center Lobby.

The dedication event was part of SET-UP’s annual Valentine concert “Naglalagablove,” with this year as their 9th year entitled as “Sa-9 All.” Andre Amorin, chairperson of SET-UP said that this event was a way to give back to the UPB community.

“Libre yung concert and as for the dedications, humingi kami ng contributions in order to surprise them, this year with roses and cookies and picture rin nung mga dinedicatan.” Free pandesal and coffee were also served at the event.

(The concert is free and as for the dedications, we collected contributions (fees) in order to surprise them. This year with roses, cookies, and pictures of those who were given dedications.)

Leira Ubiña, one of the students who received a dedication song and a bouquet of flowers from a SET-UP MEMBER felt overwhelmed.

“Di ko siya ineexpect. Never pa ako nasurprise, once in a lifetime as in first time ko magkaroon ng dedication ever, sa isang event pa,” Ubiña said.

(I did not expect this. I was never surprised, this is a once in a lifetime event, as in it’s my first time to be given a dedication ever, most especially in an event.)

Songs were given renditions by SET-UP such as “Araw-Araw” by Ben&Ben, “Sinderela” by Cup of Joe, “It’s You” by Henry and more. Around seventy people attended and enjoyed the concert.

“It’s nice listening to local bands, tapos mapapasana-all ka nalang talaga,” one of the audiences said.

(It’s nice listening to local bands, apparently sana all is all that you can say.)

With or without someone to celebrate the Valentines with, the concert provided a venue for the audience to chill and sing along with the UPB community.

SET-UP announced that for those who are interested to join the organization, there will be auditions on February 19 and 21 at the Council of Leaders (CL) Office.
