The Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) sports meet this year has been set to March 24 to 28. However, the Department of Education-Cordillera Administrative Region appeals to reschedule it due to the overlap of events.
In a press conference, Ms. Carolyn Verano from DepEd – CAR proposed to Mayor Benjamin Magalong to move the dates on March 23 to 27. This is to give way for the preparations for the Panagbenga Grand Street Dance Competition which will be on the 28th of March.
Mayor Magalong jokingly replied to Verano, “Pag-iisipan ko pa” (I will think about it), but he later pointed out, “In principle, okay na ‘yung sched” (In principle, the schedule is good to go).
The participating students have been preparing for these events which were later postponed due to the nCoV threat.
(The students really want the activities to continue. Some of them cried because they wanted to showcase their performances. They have been preparing for these.)
CARAA is a qualifying sports event for the Palarong Pambansa, which will be participated by student-athletes from Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Tabuk City, Abra, Mountain Province and Ifugao.
